Especially for Women

Cheryl Klein has spent more than two decades working with women's issues, completing training and developing skills to help adult women cope with the following types of difficulties:

1) Body image (not feeling good about how we look, measuring ourselves against others, feeling a sense of shame)

2) Self-confidence and self-worth (too many of us settle for less than we deserve----relationships, jobs, and in other areas)

3) Need for others to be as kind to us as we may have been to them, and feeling disappointed more often than not (sometimes this is an issue of codependency, or it may involve learning to set healthy boundaries)

4) Decision-making (sometimes, some of us feel the need to check with anyone (everyone?) before making a choice or decision, lacking the confidence (competence) to move forward into new or better situations for our lives

5) Struggle with assertiveness, being able to assert (fight for?) what is right for us, as individuals

6) Dealing with the anger of others (men, children, etc.)

7) Parenting challenges

8) Too often needing the approval of others

While family and friends try to be helpful, they often find it hard to be objective...they're on your side, of course, and encourage you to do what's they see it. Sometimes it's hard to know the right thing to do. Many of us find it uncomfortable to oppose their ideas, yet seek their support. It is often helpful to have an extra set of eyes and ears (and heart!) to hear your concerns and help you find the answers that are right for YOU! Cheryl Klein, M. To be a "candidate" for counseling, an individual needs to have a problem or difficulty which needs resolution, the willingness to share it, a desire to make changes, and try new solutions. There's no judgement here; come as you are!
